Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement in effect for the weekend. Snow and mixed precipitation are expected in the next hours.

A developing Colorado low will affect much of Quebec Saturday and Sunday. If the expected track remains unchanged, snow will begin Saturday. It will change to a mixture of freezing rain and ice pellets. Saturday night in areas south of and along St. Lawrence Valley.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, sidewalks and parking lots could become icy and slippery.

Mixed precipitation will then change to rain for regions near the US border before temperatures fall once again.

-Saint-Jean – Marieville;

-Sorel – Yamaska;

-Verchères – Beloeil;

-Hemmingford;

-Huntingdon;

-Soulanges;

-Valleyfield – Beauharnois;

-Vaudreuil.
