On the afternoons of December 17th and December 18th, Franklin Elementary School held its annual Christmas concert.
The Thursday and Friday shows, which are typically hosted in the evening every Christmas season, were held in the afternoon this year due to contract negotiations that were underway when the event was originally planned. Students were festive in their Christmas hats, holding up props as they sung (and danced through!) a variation of songs that not only celebrated Christmas, but honoured holiday celebrations across different cultures, while family and friends looked up with pride and amusement at the antics of the children.
The school, which educates students from the Pre-K level to Grade 6, organized their annual concert in order to include the entire student body. While every member of the staff was involved in the production of the performance, music teacher Tamara Stevenson headed up the effort.
