Although it’s been hard to tell at times this spring, summer is fast approaching. With the season, the summer will bring parents looking for quality activities for their kids. Parents won’t want to miss this week’s registration for Huntingdon’s Summer 2016 Recreational Activities. Sign up will be happening this Tuesday and Wednesday (May 10th and 11th) from 5pm to 8pm in the gymnasium of Arthur-Pigeon School in Huntingdon.
The line up of activities this year includes day camp, swimming lessons, soccer, softball, tennis and cheerleading. The Red Cross swimming lesson program will be offered in three, two-week sessions from late June to early August, as well as a free session to all children enrolled in Day Camp.
Day Camp, organized in collaboration with The Town of Huntingdon and Arthur-Pigeon School, is intended for children 5 to 12 years of age. Activities will include swimming, soccer, softball and cheerleading. Camp will take place from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, with additional daycare available.
A specialized cheerleading academy for 8 to 12 year olds will also be offered in two, one-week sessions where participants will be encouraged to enjoy physical activity and enjoyment of the game under the supervision of coach, Catherine Ouimet.
Parents should bring their child’s Medicare Card in order to register. Registration is open to residents of Huntingdon and the surrounding region (non-town residents can expect to pay a small additional charge).
