Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement in effect for Tuesday. Poor travel conditions, caused by strong winds and snow, are expected tomorrow in Montérégie.
A weather system from Colorado will reach Western Quebec Tuesday morning. Snow will then spread toward Quebec City and the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean and reach Eastern Quebec later in the evening.
Amounts of 5 to 15 centimetres are expected. Moderate to strong winds combined with snow will reduce visibilities in blowing snow.
The snow is expected to change to rain Tuesday evening over Southern Quebec. A short period of freezing rain is possible.
Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult, said Environment Canada.
Here are the areas affect in Montérégie by the special weather statement:
-Lacolle;
-Saint-Jean – Marieville;
-Sorel – Yamaska;
-Verchères – Beloeil;
-Brome-Missisquoi;
-Granby – Waterloo;
– Hemmingford;
-Huntingdon;
-Saint-Rémi;
-Soulanges;
-Valleyfield – Beauharnois;
