On November 30, the Haut-Saint-Laurent Centre de ressources familiales (CRF) unveiled its new logo on the premises at rue King in Huntingdon to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
Present for the occasion were Stéphane Billette, MNA for Huntingdon and Chief Government Whip, Anne Quach, Federal MP for Salaberry-Suroît, as well as the organization’s valued partners.
Both deputies were impressed by the installations and said a few words. « There is no training for becoming a parent. The CRF helps about one hundred families on a weekly basis to grow in healthy ways through having fun and learning about values and tools that give them the confidence to manage on their own, » explained MP Anne Quach.
Stéphane Billette said how pleased he was to be attending the Haut-Saint-Laurent CRF’s anniversary. « The centre becomes involved in the lives of many families beginning with pregnancy and offers them support and prevention services that help to improve the quality of family life and health, as well as child development and I would like to thank everyone involved for their remarkable contribution, » he stated.
Two mothers shared their experience with the people attending; Heather Harper, Chair of the Board of Directors and a CRF participant for a number of years, spoke of her experience. « Even now, just mentioning the CRF to my children makes them smile when they think about the fun they had here. »
Director General of the CRF, Sylvie Trépanier, closed the meeting by sharing the major accomplishments of the organization with the audience and unveiling the new logo.
The CRF offers welcome, information and referral services, early childhood stimulation workshops for parents and their very young children, educational kitchen workshops, guys only cooking (cuisine 100% gars), ready for school workshops, baby equipment loans, emergency support and a book and toy lending library.
