The Madrigal Choir is set to take the stage for two moving Christmas concerts this week-end. The first will take place tonight at St-Luke’s Anglican Church in Hemmingford and the second at St. Malachie Catholic Church in Ormstown on December 9th. Both performances will commence at 8pm.

The Madrigal Choir’s Christmas performances are an over thirty-year tradition and the aim for 2017’s edition is to have a little something for everyone. The choir’s musical director, Nancylyn Campbell explains the program: “There will be traditional carols sung in English, French and Danish and we will perform Christmas classics like “Deck The Hall” and “Il est né. le roi du monde” to more contemporary songs as “Mary Did You Know” and “When A Child Is Born”. The Choir will bring you into the Christmas spirit with soothing lullabies, a hint of country, a little spiritual, a taste of calypso, as well as classical styles. There will be 4-part singing as well as sectionals, a trio and solos.”
The cost of a ticket is 15$ per person, free for children 12 years old and under. Following the concerts, the public is invited to meet the choir members while enjoying a free snack. The choir will also collect any money and food donations at the door to give to local food banks.
