The Quebec Government will invest over $50 million by 2019 for work on roads in the Huntingdon Riding.
Huntingdon MNA, Stéphane Billette, made the announcement Monday morning during a press conference at the Hemmingford Golf Club.
The projects he mentioned included paving route 202 from route 209 to route 201in Franklin; paving route 132 between chemin Bord-de-l’Eau and Montée du lac in Sainte-Barbe; paving route 203 from the exit north of Saint-Chrysostome and rebuilding a culvert on route 203 in Saint-Chrysostome; rue de l’Église will also be paved from rue Richelieu to 200 metres north of chemin de la Grande-Ligne in Lacolle.
Apart from paving these roads the ministère des Transports will also undertake rebuilding the Dulude Bridge on chemin Rivière des Fèves in Sainte-Martine.
According to MNA Billette this is, « excellent news for our economy, our quality of life and above all the safety of our roads. »
For the period of 2017 – 2019, the Huntingdon Constituency will have over 65 roadwork sites out of 324 proposed sites in the Montérégie, which represents some 459 kilometres of road.
