Forty-three year old Adam Patrick Foley from Saint-Anicet and sixty year old Remi Dargy from Dundee lost their lives when their car drove off the road on chemin des Prairies in Saint-Anicet on Wednesday, April 20 around 5 p.m.
For an unknown reason, the driver lost control of his vehicle near 688 chemin des Prairie in Saint-Anicet. At this point the car rolled and came to a stop in a field. « One of the two occupants was thrown from the vehicle, » said Sergeant Claude Denis, public relations officer with the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). Both men were taken to the hospital where their deaths were confirmed. »
A witness who assisted with emergency services emphasized that CPR was carried out by paramedics, but was unsuccessful. « Both victims were covered up. It was obvious that they had both died, » recalled the witness.
A collision reconstructionist from the SQ was dispatched to the site to uncover the exact cause of the loss of control. Sergeant Denis also confirmed that an autopsy would be carried out and did not rule out that speed may have played a role in the tragedy.
