On Wednesday, a dozen producers displayed their various agrifood products at the season’s opening of the Huntingdon Farmers’ Market on Dalhousie Street.

On this warm and sunny but somewhat blustery day, young and old alike took advantage of the opportunity to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere at this weekly event.

Ian Ward, Coordinator for the Farmers’ Market, was pleased with this new season’s activity. Between 12 and 15 producers participate from all over the Haut-Saint-Laurent territory.

Fruit and vegetables, potted herbs, farm raised meats, local wines, baked goods, artisanal soaps, face painting booths and live music provided the perfect setting for dozens of visitors to spend a few relaxing moments while encouraging local producers.

Volunteers from the Comité de réhabilitation de la Rivière Châteauguay were also on site handing out free trees to customers.

Located at Dalhousie and Prince-Arthur Streets in Huntingdon, the Farmers’ Market is open for its 12th season every Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. until October 4th. For information, visit the web site http://mfch.weebly.com.
