A big arts festival will be held in Huntingdon on August 8-9, bordering the Huntingdon Agricultural Fair.

This cultural festival will take place in the park, under the Big Top laid out on the site of Grove Hall at 165 Chateauguay street, on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

On site on the shores of the Chateauguay River, visitors will be able to cast an eye on art work, paintings, sculptures, drawings and articles by artisans exhibited in permanence by the creators of the region.

Music fans will also have a rendez-vous under the Big Top. On Saturday from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., the acoustic Sun Music show will star artists such as Eric Muir, Andrea Soesbergen, Crooked Compass, Fake it for the Fame/Roman Fraser, 1236, Mack and the Lovin’s, and Jerbare.

In the evening, the Night Music rock show beginning at 8 p.m. will feature groups such as the Moon and Back, Run Snowball Run, Of Winter, Summer Led, Tie-Die Electric Sky, and Perfect Ending to Evolution. Entry fee is $6.

Traditional gospel songs from the Durham County Poets group will moreover animate the Sunday matinee, beginning at 11 a.m. That concert will be followed by the Hello Hello family show presented by Christopher Pennington.

The Haut Saint-Laurent arts festival is presented by the Haut-Saint-Laurent MRC, the Rural Arts Project and the ELAN (English Language Arts Network).
