With fall in the air, Huntingdon’s Little Green Library is commencing a second season of its film club Ciné-Cinema on September 15th.
The successful club launched its first season in 2016 and will be continuing to show quality films for Valley residents to enjoy on the big screen without traveling to city centers. The showing of evening and matinee films at the library continues the mission to present films in their original version from different cultures and countries, accessible in both French and English. « People have often expressed an interest in having repertory films screened in Huntingdon, » explained Louise Charlebois, President of the Library Board of Directors.
Following the summer break, Ciné-Cinema will begin the new season by presenting the biographical chronicle, DJANGO, by Étienne Comar (2017), with Reda Kateb, Cécile de France and Beata Palya, in its original French version. This film, suitable for all ages, will be screened on Friday, September 15 at 7:30 p.m. and again on Sunday, September 17 at 2 p.m. A selection of films will be presented throughout the season at The Little Green Library at 4 Lorne in Huntingdon.
Locals can take note that the successful series is a bargain compared to box office prices, with admission at $7.00 for adults and $3.00 for youth of 16 years and under. This year, cinema lovers can also purchase a discount pass for any 9 viewings for $50 – a savings of $13. The pass is transferable.
