Property sales increased by 15% in Haut Saint-Laurent for the first six months of 2015 compared to the same period last year. This surpasses the neighbouring territories of Beauharnois-Salaberry and Vaudreuil-Soulanges.
From January to June of 2015, a total of 105 single-family homes were sold in Haut Saint-Laurent, according to the figures of economist Joanie Fontaine on her Les Affaires journal blog. The average price of properties was fixed at $165,000, a rise of 10% over last year.
The number of properties sold in Beauharnois-Salaberry (320) was superior, but this number nevertheless represents a drop of 2% of the sales compared to the first six months of 2014. The average price of properties was also lower by 1% to establish itself at $185,000.
In Vaudreuil-Soulanges, where the population growth ranks among the highest in the country, 1,096 single-family homes were sold from January to June of 2015, constituting a drop of 7% compared to the same period in 2014. As for the average price of these properties, it is situated at $269,950, a rise of 4%.

They were drawn from the Land Register which includes sales by real-estate agents, sales between private parties and new constructions for the first half of 2015.
In Quebec, the MRCs where the greatest increases in the sales of houses were registered from last January to June were those of Acton (Acton Vale 59%), Pontiac (Campbell’s Bay 40%), Lotbiniere (Sainte-Croix 39%) and Les Jardins-de-Napierville (Napierville) 31%.
