Since its foundation in 1947, the Ormstown Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion has participated in the Poppy Campaign. The sale of these small symbols serves to maintain the memory of those who fell serving our country and to support local service organizations.
This year alone the Poppy Fund donated 450 $ to each C.V.R. and to Arthur-Pigeon in scholarships, 1000 $ to the Franklin School lunch program and 100 $ to the Sébastien Bourdon softball tournament, the profits going to Mr. Bourdon who has cancer.
Most recently, the fund sent 300 $ to the Saint Anne’s Hospital Foundation and 1000 $ to the Barrie Memorial Ladie’s Auxiliary in Ormstown.
