The MRC du Haut-Saint-Laurent will be presenting Loraine Lamb Lalonde’s exhibition « Vintage Vibes » at the Alfred-Langevin cultural Hall in Huntingdon from November 6 to 27.

Loraine Lamb Lalonde is a lifelong resident of the Chateauguay Valley. Her residence is located in Ormstown.

Loraine is a graduate of Chateauguay Valley Regional High School, and studied fine arts at both St. Lawrence College in Cornwall, Ontario, and Concordia University. She and her husband Steve run a poultry and organic cash crop farm.

Loraine credits high school art teacher, the late Derek Tilley, with teaching her the basics of painting and drawing. She also spent many years in the sign business, and through friendships formed during those years, still takes part in mural projects all over the USA and Canada. Her Vintage Vibes series of paintings are the next chapter in her artistic journey.

Using acrylic on linen or canvas, she paints what can best be described as architectural landscape with a touch of vintage nostalgia. « Most of my work includes some type of signage, but not necessarily all. My love of old signs and structures evolved into a quest to capture them on canvas before they disappear. » explains the artist.  M.P.
